WHAT YOU'LL OWN
Design and build Lyzr's people function from the ground up — strategy, systems, and team
Lead talent acquisition across engineering, product, sales, and operations in India and the US
Own the full US and Canada employee experience: compensation benchmarking, health & benefits administration, 401(k), equity, and compliance
Manage India HR operations including statutory compliance, payroll coordination, and vendor relationships
Build performance frameworks that are lightweight, fair, and actually drive growth
Shape culture in a distributed, async-first team defining what 'great place to work' means at Lyzr
Partner with founders and leadership team on org design, headcount planning, and leveling
Establish onboarding and L&D programs that help people ramp fast and grow continuously.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
12+ years as an HR / People business partner, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing a team and a clear, progressive track record of increased scope and responsibility across multiple HR functions.
Meaningful time inside an early-stage tech startup (Series A–C), where you've lived through 2x–5x headcount growth and know what breaks and what to build ahead of at each inflection point.
Strong ability to operate in ambiguity: you can introduce structure without over-engineering, and you know the difference between a policy the company needs now versus one it needs in 18 months.
Proven track record designing and running employee engagement and communications programs that move the needle on morale, performance, and retention
Appetite for building innovative People programs and practices that create a culture of strong leaders and high-performing teams
Experience identifying and implementing programs to keep the company compliant with applicable government regulations across jurisdictions.
Solid working knowledge of US employment law, benefits (health, dental, vision), insurance brokers, and equity administration. You don't need to be a lawyer, but you know when to call one.
Equivalent fluency in Indian HR operations: PF, ESIC, gratuity, POSH compliance, and labor law basics.
Hands-on experience selecting and implementing HRIS tools and building people processes from scratch -without a large team behind you.
