Event Producer (Contractual)
Create unforgettable NYC events from a blank page — scout standout venues, shape every detail, and bring big ideas to life on a smart budget.
Location : NYC (Hybrid) · 20 hours · Some travel
Lyzr builds AI agents for big enterprises like banks, insurers, and companies that have a 40-page procurement process. Our events team runs executive dinners, hackathons, conference takeovers, and side events across NYC, Europe, and the Middle East.
We build events from zero to one. You'll start with a blank Google Doc, a tight budget, and a vibe, and finish with a room full of people who are still talking about the night a week later.
Who we're looking for
You're the friend who plans the group trip, finds the secret venue, and somehow gets the restaurant to throw in free dessert. You have taste and hustle, and you can't stop noticing details.
You see an empty room and picture what it could become. You negotiate like it's a sport. You care about the lighting, the playlist, the place cards, and the merch, and you know they all add up to whether an event feels forgettable or unforgettable.
What you'll actually be doing
venue scouting (the treasure hunt)
Find and secure venues, especially free or partner-sponsored spaces that large enterprises, cloud providers, VCs, accelerators, and innovation hubs offer to startups.
Build a go-to list of venues in NYC and beyond, and keep it growing.
Match each venue to the event's vibe, size, and audience.
experience design (zero to one)
Own the concept for each event, including the theme, look and feel, guest flow, and big moments.
Design creative touches that make people pull out their phones and post.
Make sure people leave with a story to tell and are still talking about it the next week.
merch and swag
Dream up, source, and produce merch people will actually wear and use, so it doesn't end up in a drawer.
Manage vendors, timelines, and shipping so everything arrives on time.
Pricing and negotiations
Source and manage vendors for catering, AV, print, florals, decor, merch, and anything else we need.
Negotiate on pricing, perks, and terms, and stretch every dollar.
Build and track budgets so nothing surprises us after the event.
Event day (the main character moment)
Build run-of-shows, production timelines, and checklists.
Make sure everything is set up and ready before the first guest walks in.
Manage vendors, setup, stage cues, and teardown on the day.
Stay calm and fix problems before anyone notices them.
You're our person if you
Have produced events, activations, pop-ups, parties, or shoots, and have the photos to prove it.
Are scrappy and resourceful and know how to land a great venue for free or close to it.
Love negotiating and are good at it.
Have a strong aesthetic point of view and can explain your references, whether from design, hospitality, fashion, or art.
Notice details obsessively, from lighting temperature and playlist timing to a misspelled name on a place card.
Stay cool under pressure and decide quickly.
Get things done without needing reminders.
